The "genre codes" used in MapFan API's spotarea have more detailed classifications than the publicly available second-level categories (such as "hospital" or "school").
We've received many requests for "I want to search with more detailed classifications" in situations where more precise data is needed.
A. 📊 What are third-level genre codes?
MapFan API's genre codes have a third level, which provides more detailed classifications.
Some of the third-level codes are published in the MapFan API Genre Code List, but there are also genre codes that are not publicly disclosed.
🔒 Why are some genre codes not publicly disclosed?
We refrain from publishing them because they have higher variability than the publicly disclosed genre codes.
*The genres may be added or deleted in data updates
However, among the undisclosed genre codes, there have been cases where we've individually disclosed those with relatively stable code values.
